Licence terms
These terms apply when you install, try or buy Contourvio, made by SC Laser Ltd (“we”, “us”). By activating a trial or licence you agree to them. If you are buying as a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights.
1. Your licence
When you buy Contourvio you receive a lifetime licence for the edition you bought. It is personal to you or your business, non-exclusive and non-transferable unless we agree otherwise in writing. You may activate it on up to 2 computer(s) that you or your staff use.
You may use Contourvio commercially, including to prepare work you sell to customers. The files you create are yours; we claim no rights in your artwork or output.
2. What you must not do
- Share, publish or sell your licence key, or let others outside your business use it.
- Copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer Contourvio, except where the law allows it.
- Remove or alter licence checks, copyright notices or third-party notices.
- Resell or distribute Contourvio without a written reseller agreement with us.
3. Free trials
A free trial lets you evaluate Contourvio for 14 days with every feature of the Standard edition. It ends automatically; your files and settings are kept, and you can continue by entering a full licence key. One trial per person or business. Trials are provided as they are, for evaluation.
4. Editions and the Founder’s Offer
Contourvio Standard is currently on sale. Contourvio Pro is not yet available to buy: it will add true-shape nesting and will go on sale only once that feature is complete and tested. No release date has been set, and we do not promise one.
Founder's Offer: if you buy Contourvio Standard while the offer is shown on our website, you will receive a free Contourvio Pro licence when Pro is released. The upgrade is recorded against your licence when you buy. It has no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred separately from your licence, and does not entitle you to any refund or compensation while Pro is unavailable. Your Contourvio Standard licence works in full in the meantime.
5. Updates
Your licence includes: all updates to Contourvio version 1 (1.x), free of charge. Updates are optional, digitally signed and installed only when you choose. We may change, add or remove features over time, but an update will not take away the core features of the edition you bought.
6. Activation and licence keys
Licences are checked offline on your computer. Keep your licence key safe: anyone with it could activate Contourvio, and because activation is offline we cannot switch a key off remotely. If you lose your key, contact us and we will resend it.
7. Refunds and cancellation
Because you can try every feature free for 14 days before buying, purchases are not refundable once your licence key has been issued, except where the law requires (see below).
If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. That right ends once we start supplying it, by delivering your licence key, if you asked us to start straight away and acknowledged that you would lose the right to cancel. Separately, if Contourvio is faulty or not as described, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which these terms do not limit.
8. Third-party software
Contourvio includes open-source and third-party components, each under its own licence. Their notices are installed with the app and listed in the Third-party notices shortcut.
9. Checking your output
Contourvio prepares files for printing and cutting, but materials, printers, RIP software and cutters vary. Check proofs before running production jobs. You are responsible for having the rights to the artwork you process.
10. Our liability
We supply Contourvio with reasonable care and skill. If you are a business customer, we are not liable for loss of profit, business, data or materials, or for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to the price you paid for your licence. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, but not for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Ending your licence
If you seriously breach these terms, for example by sharing your licence key publicly, we may end your licence and stop providing updates and support.
12. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings where you live. We may update these terms for future purchases; the version in force when you bought applies to your licence.
